Lingyin Temple is one of the famous ancient temples in Jiangnan. Lingyin
Temple was first built in the first year of Xianhe in the Eastern Jin Dynasty
(326 AD). It has a history of about 1700 years. It is the earliest famous temple
in Hangzhou and one of the top ten ancient temples of Zen Buddhism in China. It
is located at the foot of Lingyin mountain to the west of Hangzhou West Lake,
with its back to the north peak and its face to Feilai peak. The two peaks face
each other, with towering trees, ancient temples and clouds.
